1920’ler ve 30’larda Man Ray’den Çarpıcı Sanatsal Portreler ve Gerçeküstü Fotoğrafçılık

1890 yılında, Emmanuel Radnitzky adıyla Güney Philadelphia’da doğan Amerikalı görsel sanatçı Man Ray, kariyerinin çoğunu Paris’te geçirdi. Her biriyle bağı gayri resmi olsa da Dada ve Sürrealist hareketlerine önemli bir katkıda bulundu. Ray, çeşitli mecralarda büyük işler üretti, ancak kendisini her şeyden önce bir ressam olarak gördü. Yine de o en çok fotoğrafçılığıyla tanınıyordu. Ünlü bir moda ve portre fotoğrafçısıydı.

Man Ray, kendisine atıfta bulunarak “rayograflar” adını verdiği fotogramlarla yaptığı çalışmalarla da dikkat çekti. 1976’da 86 yaşında akciğer enfeksiyonundan Paris’te öldü.
